Lost in the detail at Topkapi Palace

I was completely lost in detail at Topkapi Palace in Istanbul.  I wandered round for hours photographing the patterns.  When I lay down to sleep that night my mind was filled with moving coloured shapes.   They even danced their way into my dreams.

Thank you for visiting my blog today. I appreciate the time you took to stop by. May your day be filled with joy and peace.

  2. Islamic art is very beautiful–the patterns are wonderful and their blues are lovely. That dream/sleep thing happens to me when I’ve been looking at colors and such. Love when that happens. You’re a lucky gal to visit such a place.

    1. Yes I get fascinated by floors too. I have a couple of photos of floors at Topkapi but didn’t include them here.

  3. Suzanne, thank you first of all for your beautiful Turkish tile photographs. I haven’t been to Istanbul for too long. Your post sated my yearning to see it to great extent. Secondly, I take your life objective quite personally in that that I have been beating around the push for years to put the same quest into words at least in order to lead myself to live the way I want to. Thanks, in other words, for being an inspiration in terms of how little “we” humans actually need to live.

    1. Wow thanks so much. Istanbul is a wonderful place. I loved being there.
Your comment about my life objective is most welcome. I live on the fringe a lot yet that is where I’m happiest.

Please comment. I love knowing what you think.
