In the neighbourhood

This week Cee invites us to Walk 100 steps or less and take new photos.  When I saw the challenge I knew I had to use the photos I took a couple of days ago – o.k.  so they are not brand new but they are very close to.

It was sunset when I walked less than a 100 steps and took this photo of my neighbour’s washing blowing around on the line. I was intrigued by the way the light formed a halo around her clothes.

I then walked less than 100 steps in the other direction to take this photo of the pharmaceutical  factory over the road.   The photo makes the place look magical.   It is far from it.  24/7 it grinds, bangs, whistles, moans and beeps.  Trucks come and go constantly.   Last night around 2am the fire siren went off.  The fire siren going off is not an uncommon experience but this is the first time I’ve heard it at night.   I lay in bed wondering if I should be panicking.   Was the bloody place about to blow?

After about 5 minutes the siren ceased but I couldn’t get back to sleep for hours. I’ve gotta move…

    1. Thanks Skywalker. All this support from my blogging friends is giving me the strength to get moving as soon as possible. I think I’ll be able to do so in a couple of months if I save hard. 🙂

    1. That’s a good way of putting it. I was thinking I’d move in about May/June now I’m thinking March/April. Thanks so much for your comment.

    1. Thanks Cee. It makes me feel a bit better to know I’m not the only one who would have freaked at the sound of that fire siren.

Please comment. I love knowing what you think.
